Can I register a domain anonymously?
Yes. Offbook does not ask who you are at any point. An account is an email address you choose, a password, and an invite code — no legal name, no phone number, no payment card, and no identity documents.
The name itself is registered in our name rather than yours, so the public record has nothing of yours to disclose. You keep operational control of the name from the desk or the API.
Do you require KYC or identity verification?
No. There is no identity check because there is no payment processor demanding one — funding is crypto only, so no bank ever sits between you and the account.
Whose name appears in the WHOIS record?
Ours. This is not a WHOIS privacy add-on layered over your details — your details were never collected, so there is nothing underneath the mask.
What cryptocurrencies can I pay with?
USDC on Solana, Base and Ethereum; native ETH on Base and Ethereum; Bitcoin; and Zcash. Every account gets its own dedicated address on each chain — they are not shared deposit addresses with a memo field.
USDC credits one-for-one: one USDC is one dollar of credit, with no spread and no conversion step. ETH, BTC and ZEC post at the fill price when the transfer confirms.
What do you log?
Activity is not recorded. There is no history of what you searched, what you resolved, or what you pointed a record at — which means there is no such history to leak, sell, or be compelled to produce.
What necessarily exists is the ledger: the deposits that funded the account and the purchases that drew it down, because that is the account balance itself.
How do I get an invite?
Offbook is invite-only. Accounts are created with a code issued by an existing account holder or by the operator; open signup is not currently enabled.
What happens if my balance is too low?
Nothing is bought and nothing is charged. Every paid action is quoted before it runs, and if the credit does not cover the quote the call is refused with a 402 — there is no overdraft and no card to fall back on.
Can a program or agent use my account?
That is a first-class case rather than an afterthought. Issue an API key from the desk and a program can search, register, manage DNS and order servers against the same dollar credit you use.
Every debit an agent makes lands in your ledger itemised, so an automated purchase is as legible after the fact as one you made yourself.
Is DNS included?
Yes, and it is not billed. Records live beside the name they serve, and the editor handles A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, MX, NS, SRV and CAA records with per-record TTLs.
Do I get root on the servers?
Yes. Bring your own SSH public key and it is installed at build time, or let Offbook mint an ed25519 pair and hand you the private half once. Either way access is yours from first boot.
