Endings for money and counsel

Lending, insurance, tax, law and the deal-making around them. The most heavily scrutinised category in the catalog, for good reason.

Financial and legal endings attract two populations: the businesses they describe, and people impersonating them. Registries in this category tend to operate the strictest anti-abuse policies as a result, and some run eligibility checks before a name resolves.

If you are registering in this space, expect the ending itself to carry an implicit claim about who you are — which is separate from whether your registration is anonymous. The name is held in our name; what you then do with it is yours.

Offbook does not vet what you build. It also does not stand behind it. Impersonating a regulated institution is a fast way to lose a domain at the registry level, and no registrar can protect you from that.
